We usually start with projects that pay off quickly and are straightforward to build, concentrating on the core functionality needed to deliver value early and to gather valuable feedback from real use.
From the first conversation to the first production use, expect around three months: workshop, potential analysis, prototype, operation. Where the processes are clear and the data is available, it can go faster.
Around ten people — small enough for a conversation in which everyone gets a turn. The day pays off most when the group is drawn from across the company: business units, IT, administration. Use cases come from wherever someone knows the process first-hand.
Article 4 of the AI Act has applied since February 2025: anyone deploying AI must ensure sufficient AI literacy among everyone working with it — including external people doing so on their behalf. How that happens is left open; the depth follows prior knowledge and context of use, and the measures belong on record.
How much depth a given role needs shows in the rollout: we have been building AI systems that run in production since 2017, alongside the teams that work with them. Our learning platform grew out of that practice — it covers the requirement in full, free of charge and with a certificate as proof.
To the learning platformYes. Federal and state programmes subsidise digitalisation and AI projects; in the state of Bremen, for instance, the programme Digitaler Mittelstand KI covers AI, automation and cybersecurity.
On request we work closely with funding consultancies along the way, MATIK in Bremen among them: funding analysis, paperwork, liaison with the funding body through to disbursement. All that then remains on the client side is a few details about the project.
Funding programmes at MATIKMany of the projects we have delivered sit in highly regulated sectors: statutory health insurers, doctors and therapists, public administration, church organisations.
Regulatory requirements are part of the work from day one: for every use case, what data it touches, where that data is processed, which laws apply and which AI Act risk class it falls into is on the table early.
Depending on the sector that means GDPR and the EU AI Act, the social secrecy of § 35 SGB I together with processing on behalf under § 80 SGB X, the state data protection acts of public administration, the separate data protection law of the churches with its own supervision (KDG, DSG-EKD) — and professional confidentiality under § 203 of the German Criminal Code. With most of the hosting and LLM providers we use, the secrecy agreements this requires are already in place.
Processing and hosting run GDPR-compliant on European infrastructure. The legal assessment and sign-off stays, as the law requires, with your data protection officers and lawyers — we supply the documents they build on.
